Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. - 1 Cor. 6:19-20 -
Why are you doing that in the sanctuary an elder yelled? Don’t you know that this is a holy place as the child is drinking a bottle of water. Another person drinking a cup of coffee. The strictness of not allowing anything into the sanctuary that could taint it with sin is admirable. It’s something that should be done to keep the sanctuary clean and inviting for worship service. The sanctuary shouldn’t be filled with trash, yet the aim of holiness is place on the wrong sanctuary.
While the building sanctuary is called to be holy the true sanctuary, the body is filthy dirty filled with sin, yet no one cares to point that out. No one calls out factions, gossip, bitterness, favoritism, an unforgiving heart and so on because it isn't seen as dirtying the sanctuary. Yet it is this sanctuary that will separate you from God. It is more important and honoring to have a clean body. It’s not just the individual body but also the church body with is the universal body of Christ. As we walk, may the things we say and do this day, bring honor and glory God as people see how much we honor and glorify God with our body.
